Came here for my cousin's graduation lunch celebration. His parents were raving about the place, so I was excited to check it out.
The restaurant is located in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking available, although when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon it was a bit tough finding parking closer to the restaurant, but we found a spot towards the back of the lot (furthest away from the restaurant) - no big deal.
The restaurant is large, much larger than I anticipated considering the location. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming, and the décor is beautiful.
The friendly host (I found out later he was the co-owner) greeted us and we were seated right away (we had reservations of course). Our waiter stopped by shortly after and helped with our drink selections and made helpful suggestions for appetizers since we were a larger party. Everything I tried, and I tried everything that was places on our table, was absolutely delicious! From the bread, to the appetizers, to the main course dishes, everything was REALLY GOOD!
The chef even came out to say hello to our table. It was definitely a full experience and I can understand why my cousin and his parents love this place. It's slightly out of the way for me (I live in San Diego) but whenever I am back in town visiting, I am definitely going to return.
Job well done Avenue Italy!!

Delicious little Italian hole in the wall that I did not expect to be as classy inside as it looks on the outside. So regardless of that I brought my 6-year-old daughter, and they sat us by the window. I enjoyed the lobster special and calamari was fresh and our favorite of course was the spumoni which I will be back for! That was delicious! Great wine! Cheers!

We arrived in LA and wanted to eat at a nice restaurant and yelped restaurants in the area and low and behold what kind of dining do you think we came across in LA? Yes, of course Mexican!! Don't get me wrong, I like Mexican food but not for my main meal. So we came across a 4 star place called Avenue Italy. First we went to Trader Joe's and bought an Inglenook to drink at the restaurant. When we arrived, we thought the restaurant was closed, we walked in at approximately 1:30pm and the waiter seated us immediately, opened our bottle of wine and brought us a delicious walnut beet salad and bread with an outstanding garlic olive oil on the side. As our main course we ordered a lasagna and braised pork. The lasagna was delicious and the pork wasn't that great.
The wine list is a decent one, they have a few good options and prices are not too crazy, the wine glasses are very good as well.
The services was very friendly and fast, I'm not 100% sure but I believe his name is Abel. Kudos to him and the entire restaurant staff!

Wow this place is amazing. Their service is impeccable. Their portions are large and filling. The music is played at just the right level. I got the calzone and beat salad. Both were tasty and highly recommended. John was amazing!!

Had a lovely time here! The place itself is very cute and our waiter was great. Truly enjoyed our cocktails here and the food was on par. It was a very welcomed experience after terrible customer service across the way at "TAR." Will be back again for a quaint and friendly dinner.

We came here for a rehearsal dinner and for a big party they whipped up our dinner pretty fast! I was impressed and the food tasted great. I got the lobster pasta with a light cream sauce. It was delicious and decent sized pieces of lobster. I felt like it was worth it for just $30
We got the appetizer platter and i thought it was great! It included bruschetta, calamari, and other bite sizes that were great!
I would go back if i didnt live so far! but they handled a big group very well.

I've gone to Ave Italy a lot and enjoy it every time. I recently had the spaghetti and meat balls type dish and it was soo good. The meatballs were so flavorful and delicious. I'm such a creature of habit that I don't often venture off and try new dishes - but man this was so good. Sometimes you go places and the meatballs are dry and tasteless. - these were so good! Craving and gonna go back this week.

Avenue Italy has a lovely atmosphere, and a warm and inviting feel. The waiter was terrific, and recited the specials like he knew them backwards and forwards. Even though I didn't order any of the specials, I still appreciated his expertise in explaining them the way he did, and I'm sure it's very good for business! I had delicious linguine and clams, and it had miniature tomatoes in it as well. It was a wonderful dish even though the Linguini could have been cooked a little bit more. The liquid sauce was great, and they brought a large bowl for me to put the clam shells into. I had a tasty glass of local red wine, and it was full-bodied. My friend had a simple spaghetti and meatball dish, but she said it was delicious, too. Both portions were ample, and she said she would have enough food for several meals the next day! I brought a nice portion of my meal home, too. And to add, the waiter was excellent overall, and I never felt that the service was lacking during the entire meal, which incidentally came pretty quickly! Even though admittedly, it's a little pricey, I recommend Avenue Italy very highly.

Happy birthday dinner via Avenue Italy.
I recently celebrated by birthday at Avenue Italy. This lovely place is tucked away up in the hill at the Golden Cover Center.
The moment you walk in it is like your transported to Italy. They have a nice cozy dining area with a wine bar as well as an pretty outdoor patio.
Their menu is filled with classic Italian favorites such as spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna, homemade pastas such as fettuccine cappesante and pappardelle all'aragosta and speciality plates like veal milanese.
We started off my birthday dinner with one of their appetizers; they caprese e melanzane. I really loved the plating on this dish. It was beautiful the way they stacked the eggplant, tomato and mozzarella. It was also quite delicious.
We next tried the beet salad. I noticed this salad is very popular among Yelpers and it's for good reason. It's a quite a tasty mix and very fulfilling. The kitchen even split the salad for us and there was quite a big bowl still for each of us.
For our mains, our waiter recommended two of his favorites; the pollo e prosciutto and ravioli di fungi. I got the the pollo e prosciutto while he got the ravioli di fungi. Both dishes were quite lovely. I was really surprised at how big the plate was for the pollo e prosciutto. It came with three large pieces of chicken!
Last but not least was dessert. That evening they had tiramisu, creme brulee, cannoli and various ice cream scoops. We chose to get the tiramisu. Once again the presentation was superb. It had a cute fork layout on the plate. Equal in the great presentation was the tiramisu's great taste.
I was really impressed with this place and it made for a wonderful birthday dinner. Thank you ;).

i really love this place!
they have the BEST pizza. large portions and large in taste. the beet salad was also really amazing. we got the angel hair pasta too which was okay. they split everything for us without us even asking which was sweet. the area is beautiful. my diet coke didnt have much carbonation but that food made up for it. the bread they gave was a little hard but the olive oil and herb dip was amazing. can't wait to go back when im in the area again. really cute inside too.

What a hidden gem! We've driven by here many times but this was our first time to eat here. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported to little Italy. The wait staff was very attentive. The bread was surprisingly crispy & the dipping oil was delicious. My husband & I decided to split a Caesar salad & they were nice to accommodate this & split it in the kitchen before serving it. It was a large portion, even split! Plenty of fresh Parmesan shavings & croutons. My mother in law ordered the salmon, one of the specials & although undercooked to my tastes, she enjoyed it immensely. My husband & I split the lasagna & it was cheesy & flavorful. We had to accomplish the splitting at the table which was a tad messy. Wish they had done it in the kitchen! Our bottle of chianti was perfect! We ordered the chocolate bomb for dessert & it tasted slightly of ice milk instead of a rich ice cream flavor but it was still yummy. Our collective remark was that the wait staff rushed us through our meal & was even slightly impatient with our request for a few moments with the menu before ordering.

Little Italian gem in Palos Verdes!
Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away and taken care of well. The staff was extremely attentive and shared the house specials and gave great recommendations.
Appetizers: the sauce they give with their bread is so delicious!!!!! It's so addicting and we asked for extra to eat with the rest of our order as well. Also tried the Bruschetta Toscana which was delicious and presented beautifully.
Main course: we ordered the beet salad which was a perfect combination with the bruschetta. Also ordered the Genovese pizza and spaghetti and meatballs with a pink sauce which is a combination of the red and white sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious and wasn't overly heavy.
Would definitely come back here and recommend this spot to everyone.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a legitimate Italian restaurant in right by our house. Avenue Italy has a lot of reviews, most of which are very positive - which I would say is very accurate!
The restaurant is perched in the same plaza as the Yellow Vase, and in fact, the actual decor is very similar: black painted open ceiling with shades of yellow and cream adorning the walls. The design is very pleasant, and the restaurant makes good use of space - mostly tables of four or more with a few booths in the back. They tend to get very busy at dinner time, but I found them to move along quickly with the wait, if any, being minimal.
The hostess is almost exceptionally cordial (she may be one of the owners), which is always great. The staff was also very friendly and attentive.
Now on to the important part: THE FOOD! I was craving a pizza so got the four cheese pie - amazing! The crust was very thin and very crispy without being dry which is perfect for me. I asked for no sauce, seeing as how one of the cheeses was a ricotta-type that is basically a sauce. Overall it was very good, and the server even sprinkled some Parmesan to top it off.
My girl got the seafood salad and the seafood soup (can you guess what she was craving?) and both were delicious. Although I don't eat much seafood (I'm on the seefood diet - when I see food, I eat it!), the salad looked like a work of art.
We got the tiramisu for dessert and it was fantastic. If you like Italian food, you know tiramisu is a hard dish to get right - Avenue Italy did a great job. The layers were just right, and the chocolate sprinkle added some puffness. I would only suggest a little more liquor and sweetness to give it more of that pure authentic taste.
Overall the choices on the menu are plentiful and I will be sure to try the steak next time I go. Very authentic offerings with plenty of wine to go with your meals.
Highly recommended overall for the delicious food, pleasant staff, and stylish design.
